The Lord has me in the midst of a healing process. Read the first part of the story here.
If you have ever lived with chronic pain you have probably learned how to cope to some extent and can usually function at a reasonable level most days. But you also know that there are times that there is nothing you can do but to curl up in bed and hope the next day is better.
The NUCCA has worked so well for the past 4 years, but I have noticed that in the past 6 months hasn’t been ‘holding’. Instead of being able to go months with only minor pains, it seems to only be lasting weeks before I feel the need to go back for an adjustment. However, Dr. Heath is in my hometown in Illinois, and I now live in Tennessee with no NUCCA chiropractor nearby. And my knees only seem to be getting worse as time goes by. I hate that I cannot kneel in prayer for any length of time without it effecting me for the next 24 hours.
And the past year I have just grown weary of coping and ‘getting by,’ especially when he had promised me the healing I so desire. I brought my weariness to Jesus’ feet, asking if the time for healing could come quickly.
The following is excerpts from my journal from my most recent trip to see the girls of STEPS Home in India.
July 23 & 24 –
All of the generous donations that I got to pack to take to the girls. That’s a lot of stuff!
Our journey officially started on Monday, July 23, where Theresa and I left from Knoxville at 6pm. But really, the trip was put into motion on Wednesday night at church. That night at The Well, Theresa and I went prepared to share a little about our up-coming trip and be prayed for. So when I walked into the room in my sari and an Indian couple and their American friends walked in right behind me, I was a little surprised. In talking, I found out that the couple (Ashok and Sheila) were from Chennai, in Anna Nagar (the neighborhood where the office is), and know the Manogaroms! Small world! So when they return to India, they have invited us to have a meal with them before we leave to go back home. (more…)
Oh my goodness… my week has been so busy with preparations for India, that I almost forgot it is Thursday! Well, for another 30 minutes anyway!
This week I am thankful for:
1. The way that God has worked out all of the details for me and my little team to go to India. He has totally been in every part of it, paving the way for us. It has been awesome to watch! And many of the details he worked out through my sweet friends, family, and church family. What blessings in my life! (more…)
This week, I am thankful for:
1. The Well – Every Wednesday night at my church we have a prayer and worship service for two hours. I love the flow of worship leading into prayer and prayer leading into worship. They really are intertwined. And I love spending my evening with my brothers and sisters in Christ praying for the things that the Lord wants us to pray into.
