(This is a message I sent out the ladies in our small group – our topic this month is on prayer and is based off of what was shared with us in our last meeting and the handout that was given to us. View that here: Prayer – Mary Lynn 2.6.14)
I hope that you are all having a good week and staying safe in this snow! I feel a bit like I have neglected my duties last semester, but God has given me a season of rest. So I guess that was rest from writing, as well. But I feel like I might be released to write again, so hopefully I can be more consistent this semester. With that being said… let’s talk about our topic of the month: (more…)
This week, I am thankful for:
1. The Well – Every Wednesday night at my church we have a prayer and worship service for two hours. I love the flow of worship leading into prayer and prayer leading into worship. They really are intertwined. And I love spending my evening with my brothers and sisters in Christ praying for the things that the Lord wants us to pray into.
Happy Summer y’all! Can you believe it’s already here? I celebrated one year of living in Knoxville over Memorial Day weekend. Here is my most recent Ministry Update – to make it larger, click on the picture, and it will enlarge it in another window. And if you would like to receive an email copy of my update every month, just let me know – I will be happy to add you to my email list! (more…)
If you live in the Knoxville, TN area and have not heard, tomorrow is a big day! The student athletes at the University of Tennessee will see a dream come true. Game Time is their vision.
Tomorrow afternoon there will be sports camps, cheer camp, and a kid’s zone located in the Neyland Thompson Sports Complex. The gospel will be presented in each of the areas – pray for open ears and open hearts!

Happy spring! I hope that March entered like a lamb and left like a lamb for you. Here is my update for March (click on the picture to enlarge it for easier reading): (more…)

To those of you who love to get up with the mobs of people and run around in the cold, more power to you. I however, will remain snug in my bed, wake up with a purring kitty, and greet the start of the Christmas season with a relaxing morning to be followed by Christmas tree decorating and spending time with my family. This will probably be accompanied with Christmas music, hot chocolate, and a Christmas show or two on TV. (A Charlie Brown Christmas, anyone?) (more…)
Did you know that God still speaks? And did you know that anyone can hear Him? Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice. Even sheep who are not yet in the fold can hear His voice. If you can say “baa” you qualify as a sheep. (John 10:1-21)
Not sure you’ve ever heard him before? Let’s take a little test to find out!
1. Have you been invited by Jesus to receive Him?
2. Do you ever have a verse of the Bible “jump out” at you when you are reading? Do you have verses highlighted because they seem to be just for you?
3. Are you ever moved by a worship song into a deeper place of worship? (more…)
