This week, I am thankful for:
1. Pets. More specifically, my Maine Coon cat. He is 19 pounds and can reach up to grab the edge of the counter top with his paws. His name is Istanbul, but I call him Izzy for short. He is my little buddy and I miss him. He lives with my mom, but I hope to move him here to Knoxville with me someday. Izzy has a bit of a “Lassie” personality – he will alert me when something is wrong and lead me to the problem, which is really handy when your laundry room is flooding due to a backed-up drain! I’ve been home now for 48 hours from India. It almost seems like a dream. Of course, that may be because I feel like I’m walking around in a cloud thanks to the jet-lag. As I come out of that fog and am able to think in more complete and coherent thoughts and sentences, I will begin to journal on here about my time over there. So you will want to check back in the next couple of days or so to begin reading about my journey. Trust me, there are some moments you will not want to miss!

The Lord has been speaking the word “hope” over me in regards to my upcoming trip to India. I believe that He wants to send hope with me there to the little girls, and build my own hope. So in preparation, I’ve been doing some studying on hope in the Word. I ended up in a very interesting place in the Bible – a place you wouldn’t expect to find hope. Lamentations. But this is what I read in Lamentations 3:
21 Yet this I call to mind
