Family Grace – December 18 Devos


The following is an email devotional I wrote for the ladies of our small group. 

Hey ladies!

Only one week until Christmas – can you believe it?

I was thinking the other night about how whenever you are around people… family, friends, coworkers… it can sometimes cause stress. I love that Christmas is a time for family, but I know that sometimes there is a family member that just is harder to get along with than others. There are a few things I think that I think we all need to remember before the holidays.

Thankful Thursdays


Wow, it has been a while since I’ve had a chance to post a Thankful Thursday. What with traveling and recovery time, it just has gotten away from me. But here are the three things I’m thankful for this week:

1. I am so thankful that about 6 years ago God miraculously and instantly healed me of the horrible migraines that I had been suffering from. It happened through the simple prayers of a little group of sweet brothers and sisters in Christ gathered around me at a camp outside of Tecate, Mexico and prayed for the pain to end. I have been migraine-free ever since, and rarely even get a headache anymore. Thank you, Jesus!  (more…)

October Baby

Tonight I got to attend a screening of the movie October Baby with my sweet friend Natalie. I had heard a little about the movie, but really didn’t know much going into it. I was pleasantly surprised.

It is a beautifully told story of a young college-age girl who finds out that she is adopted. But as she begins to journey down the road to find out who she is, she uncovers a lot more than she bargained for. You will definitely want to bring along a few tissues when you see this movie. (Since K-Love sponsored the evening, they had little tissue packets in each of the cup holders for us.) The story is ultimately one of the power of forgiveness, reconciliation, and love. This movie will resonate with those who have adopted a child, are adopted, work to help others adopt, foster children, or have experienced the pain of abortion.  (more…)
