Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies

I found a delectable recipe one day floating around on facebook, so I traced it back to it’s source to get the full set of directions. After all, who doesn’t love molten chocolate oozing out of the center of something yummy, like a cookie??

My first (double) batch I made for our Sister Splash women’s night at church… and they disappeared like… well, not like hotcakes, but like hot cookies! Ooey-gooey cookies!

I made them again for my small group last night, and again they were a hit! I think I may have found my new go-to recipe when I need to bring a desert. So here is the recipe for you:  (more…)

Stinky Mulch and Mothballs

I really enjoy the path I walk. Though the hill is tough, the view at the top is so worth it. The only problem with that path is the stinky mulch and mothballs.

Someone must have come up with the idea that if the dye mulch pitch black and make it reek like stinky socks, rotten eggs, a compost bin, and a manure pile, that people would buy it. And they were right. You can smell it three houses before you reach it, and it follows you after. Crossing to the other side of the street doesn’t help. And if it’s fresh, it’s a strong enough stench to make you gag. I have not figured out why Knoxville-ans like it so much. Regular mulch is pretty. And it smells better too! (more…)

Dark Chocolate Candy Cane Crackles

Dark Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies are awesome cookies that I found in a butter package a few years ago. They are fabulous for Christmas and disappear quickly!

If you have little ones around the house, you can get them involved in the candy cane crushing process. Just put them in zip-lock baggies, give them a spoon or wooden meat tenderizing hammer, and let them pound away! (more…)
