April 2013 Ministry Update

Hello and Happy Spring!

I think that it is officially Spring weather throughout the U.S. now. Yay!

With summer so quickly approaching, we have much going on here at the Ministry. One thing that will consume most of my focus this summer is a trip back to India to see the girls! Let me know if you’re interested in coming along with me.

Also some great news – my car is fixed! And it wasn’t as bad as I originally thought! Thank you, Jesus!

March 2013 Ministry Update

He is risen! He is risen indeed!

As I contemplate the coming of Good Friday and Easter, I find my mind going back to those very streets of Jerusalem that I walked just a couple of years ago… the path that Jesus took to the cross. And I am overcome by His sacrifice for me… for all of us.

Because of Him, I am part of God’s family (Eph. 1:5) and I get to be a minister of reconciliation for His Kingdom (2 Cor. 5:17)! And in His goodness, He lets me minister to people here in the US as well as those precious little girls in India. I’ve had some exciting things going on in that arena, so make sure to read my little blurb about that.  (more…)

February 2013 Ministry Update

Happy Spring!

Well, spring is starting to show here in Tennessee, even though I know my northern friends are currently getting a fresh blanket of snow. But the daffodils are blooming here and their little yellow faces bring me so much joy! I love spring – the new life that it brings. It makes me think of our new life in Christ and all He has done for me.

There is much going on in my life right now. I have briefly written about it in the document below. Plus, I have included a list of some urgent needs that have come up recently. Please prayerfully consider if the Lord is asking you to help me in one or more of those areas.  (more…)

One of Those Moments…

The other day I had one of those moments… the moment when you are ready to pick up your phone to call someone you love only to remember quickly (and painfully) that they are not here anymore.

My friend Theresa called me last week because her car battery had died and she needed a jump in order to get to church. I drove over the park where she was waiting, in the rain no less. We both fumbled with our umbrellas and we lifted the cars’ hoods and I searched through my trunk to find my jumper cables. I had a large umbrella, thankfully, http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Jumper-Cables-Performance-Tools_25989141-P_N3013_A%7CGRP2005___but having to practically lay down in my trunk to get to the very back of it where the cables were stored, I could feel my backside getting wet. Fabulous! Seriously, who wants to go to church with a wet rump? (more…)

Music in the Rain

I woke up this morning actually somewhat motivated to go for a walk before I headed to the office. Rolling over, I heard the steady fall of the rain and knew that if I went through with my plan, I would be getting two showers back-to-back. I decided to catch up on a little sleep instead, not really caring to start my day feeling like a drowned rat.

I did eventually have to go out in the rain to make a quick trip to the post office. After  unsuccessfully navigating over a puddle, and found myself wishing I had some cute galoshes for a day when building an ark sounds like a good idea and discovered that my raincoat and umbrella did little to keep the rest of me dry.

Quickly I turned on my car and aimed the heated air at my feet to hopefully dry out my shoes quickly. I flicked on the windshield wipers and turned up the music on K-Love. They were playing Mercy Me’s “You Reign”. (more…)
