My Story of Healing: The Past 6 Months

The Lord has me in the midst of a healing process. Read the first part of the story here.

If you have ever lived with chronic pain you have probably learned how to cope to some extent and can usually function at a reasonable level most days. But you also know that there are times that there is nothing you can do but to curl up in bed and hope the next day is better.

The NUCCA has worked so well for the past 4 years, but I have noticed that in the past 6 months hasn’t been ‘holding’. Instead of being able to go months with only minor pains, it seems to only be lasting weeks before I feel the need to go back for an adjustment. However, Dr. Heath is in my hometown in Illinois, and I now live in Tennessee with no NUCCA chiropractor nearby. And my knees only seem to be getting worse as time goes by. I hate that I cannot kneel in prayer for any length of time without it effecting me for the next 24 hours.

And the past year I have just grown weary of coping and ‘getting by,’ especially when he had promised me the healing I so desire. I brought my weariness to Jesus’ feet, asking if the time for healing could come quickly.

Day 12, India Summer 2012 – Lunch & Romans

The following is excerpts from my journal from my most recent trip to see the girls of STEPS Home in India.

August 3 –

Mike left for Bangalore early in the morning to help with the basketball camps. Theresa and I spent time at STEPS with Isaac, Tara, and Dr. Nisha. They had a meeting with the STEPS staff, and we (along with Ben and Rohan) hung out with little Angel. She was the only girl who hadn’t met little Buster, so we introduced her to the cute little guy.

She thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet Buster!

After their meeting, Isaac told us of his new small group Bible study he would be taking us to that night. He, Tara, and another couple were the leaders of a new 20-something group from church. He told me that they were going to be starting their study of Romans, but since he hadn’t had time to prepare, he was going to “Indian Outsource” the introduction of the book of Romans to me! Oh dear! Good thing the Lord has had me reading through Romans while I’ve been here!

Memorizing James

I love Beth Moore’s Bible studies. She has been gifted with an amazing way to communicate Truth to women. In the spring, I went through her new study on the book of James with some ladies from my church. It was a great time of learning and challenging, as James did not mince words… he told it like it was!

The other exciting thing about this study was that Beth Moore has created five different levels of participation. One of levels was, on top of the homework, to memorize the book of James by the end of the year. So a few of us decided we wanted to do this. (more…)
