Musings from a promise-collector

No, I’m not talking about Steve Jobs. Though he was definitely too young and his passing is mourned by many, another man passed away on the same day (October 5) with much less attention that Mr. Jobs. Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth passed away at age 89. He doesn’t sound familiar?  He was one of the driving forces of the Civil Rights Movement right alongside Dr. King. He suffered beatings, countless arrests, and threats to his life for the cause of civil rights. The nation has indeed lost a good man who worked hard to make our country a better place and has now entered the rest of his Savior’s arms.
