Musings from a promise-collector

Power Balls

I love these peanut butter treats. They are packed with all sorts of good things such as protein, and they are delicious! And what’s great is that they mix together quickly and are no-bake. I sometimes eat one or two in the morning for breakfast and it easily tides me over until lunch.

Power Balls

  • 16-18oz. jar of creamy peanut butter (reduced fat does work)
  • 1/2 cup nonfat dry (powdered) milk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 3/4 cup quick oatmeal
  • 1-2 handfuls rice krispies for texture
  • approx. 3 oz. sesame seeds
  • Opt: chocolate chips, raisins

Mix everything together except the sesame seeds. Shape into balls. Roll in the sesame seeds. Store in the refrigerator.

Makes 24-36 balls.

Note: Crunchy peanut butter can be used, but creamy works better, due to the moisture needed to hold the ingredients together. Also, if you don’t want to spend the money on sesame seeds, you can used crushed up krispies to roll them in.

Some of the ingredients can be hard to find, but you should be able to find everything at your local store. Usually wheat germ and dry milk is in the baking aisle, and sesame seeds are near the spices.

Enjoy! And let me know what you think of them!
